Horse Competition
Information and Videos

Horse Competition: My daughter only competes in local open or "all breed" shows. Because showing for us is just for fun, we are not too interested in the breed classes, although her horse Katie has competed in American Paint Horse and Pinto Shows with her previous owners and earned "points".

Below you will find various video demonstrations on the different types of open and breed specific competitions.

What type of showing you do depends on your preference-people show their horses for many different reasons. I personally like the local shows because they are more low-key and the local folks are, for the most part, fun to be around:)

I have found that the larger shows are much more high-strung and stressful, probably because there is more at stake! Our goal with showing is just for Trinity and Katie to spend quality time together, bond, and gives her a reason to continue to work on her riding skills. Some people thrive on the big competition and excel in their chosen discipline.

Here is a video of Trin and Katie of their last shows of the season 2009-two more 4th place ribbons:)
