Barrel Racing Information and Videos
Barrel racing is a timed rodeo event where horse and rider follow a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels in their fastest time. This rodeo event, at professional ranks, is primarily a rodeo event performed by women. The horse and rider must be successful in maneuvering through the three obstacles without running off pattern or knocking them over.
Running off course results in disqualification and knocking over a barrel results in a time penalty of usually five seconds. The horse should be in tip top physical and mental condition and the rider must have good horsemanship skills to compete and win.
